Want to know more about Verina Astra in Sifnos? I have stayed there, and here you can read all about my experience and what you can expect as a guest.
Verina Astra is a small luxury boutique hotel, which is located next to the sea in Sifnos. The panoramic views are breathtaking and each night you can even do some stargazing from your suite.
So what is it like to stay here? Let’s go through each section and see some photos from our stay at the hotel as well.
Our Room at Verina Astra (The Pegasus Suite)
We stayed in the Pegasus Suite, which is a 45 square meter suite with a view over Kastro from your veranda. In the suite, you have a living room, bedroom with a king size bed as well as a bathroom in Cycladic style.
From the window of your bedroom, you also have a lovely view of the landscape and the church of Panagia Poulati.
The Veranda and Suite look like this from the outside, and you have plenty of space to sit in the shade or in the sun. The sofa was very comfortable and it was nice to have a real table as well.
The chairs were also remarkably comfy, which I didn’t expect when I first saw them.
The details in the room are what makes it so special and charming. All over the room, you will have decorations that give you that nice vibe yet at the same time exclusive feeling of a luxury boutique hotel.

Homemade and local is the concept at the breakfast, and you will be served fresh orange juice, jams, milk as well as bread. You can have Greek yogurt as well and order various egg dishes.
One of the mornings, we ordered breakfast at our room (which is included in the rate). And it was very nice to sit by ourselves and enjoy the breakfast with a fantastic view from our suite.
But the breakfast in the restaurant is nice as well, and you can order as much as you like. They also have organic energy bars and Sifnos cake that you should try while staying here.
The coffee was very nice and freshly brewed as well.
The Pool Area
Verina Astra has a lovely infinity pool with a sea view. It is quite large, so you can definitely go for a refreshing morning swim here. There are also several sunbeds with umbrellas as well as lounge beds where you can relax and improve your tan.
If you’re on holiday and just want to relax, you’ll surely spend a lot of time by the infinity pool, and rightly so, it’s amazing!

The Staff
The staff at Verina Astra is very friendly and make you feel welcome. You can tell that they care about the guests and do their best to suit everyone’s needs. I will give the staff 5 out of 5 stars, and there’s not much that could improve there.
If you need anything, they will be happy to answer questions as well and arrange a taxi, rental car, etc.
WiFi
These days, good WiFi is important for every hotel, and Verina Astra does have a good connection that is reliable and fast. So, don’t worry if you need to do some work or stay updated with friends and family.
The Location
Verina Astra might have the best location of all the hotels in Sifnos. It’s beautifully located next to the sea with views over a lovely little church and the traditional village Kastro.
From here, you can walk to Kastro and Apolonia, but I still recommend a vehicle for getting around Sifnos if you want to make the most out of your time. The distances are quite long if you want to go elsewhere, and a car or faster scooter is recommended.
Summary of our stay at Verina Astra Hotel in Sifnos
The standard, staff, details, beautiful views and the infinity pool are some of my favorite takeaways from Verina Astra.
Sifnos is a wonderful island in itself that both me and Christine absolutely fell in love with, and Verina Astra gives that top-notch experience that makes it a memorable vacation.
Even if I tried, I wouldn’t be able to find something negative about this hotel because everything was perfect and you get much value for your money here.
I especially recommend this place for couples because it is very romantic to enjoy the sea views and see the stars from your veranda. But even friends and family can come here and have a great vacation.
The fact that you’re in walking distance with a scenic trail to Kastro and the church Panagia Poulati adds to the experience.
You can book your stay at Verina Astra at Hotels.com or Booking.com. I prefer Hotels.com because you get 1 extra bonus night for every 10th night you book with them, and in general, I have a better experience with them over Booking.
