Souq Waqif

Souq Waqif is the most historic market in all of Doha and is a very interesting place to visit for tourists as it offers fantastic handmade artworks from artists based in Doha and its surroundings.

Qatar State Mosque

Qatar State Mosque also called Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque is the most impressive mosque in Doha and should not be missed when coming here. The mosque is quite modern and was opened in 2011.

It is considered one of the biggest in the world and is simply breathtaking due to its monumental size of 175,164 m² and its dominant appearance featuring traditional Arab design incorporated with modern elements.

This mosque offers room for around 11.000 men and 1000 women. It’s one of the most prominent symbols of Islam in Doha.

Al Zubarah Fort

Around 100 km north of Doha visitors can discover one of the nation’s most important historical monuments, the Al Zubarah Fort. This fort was built in 1938 and served as a military fortification protecting the peninsula from attacks from the sea.

Aspire Tower is a 300 m high skyscraper that is one of Doha’s most impressive. It is home to a luxurious hotel that offers great views over the nearby Khalifa Stadium and the skyline of Doha.

The tower was built as the emblem of the 2006 Asian Games and closely resembles a torch. For now, the tower is the tallest building in Doha and its viewing platform really shouldn’t be missed if you are comfortable with heights.

Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum

The Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is located a few kilometers west of Doha. This privately-owned museum offers a fantastic collection of artifacts from all over the world.

Most of the exhibition items were collected by Sheikh Faisal himself when traveling the world. There is a fantastic car collection here that consists of many rare models and is a real highlight for automobile enthusiasts.

Qatar National Library

The Qatar National Library is situated north-west of the city center and is another interesting attraction for people interested in culture. The library is situated in a very futuristic building dating to 2012.

In total there are around 800,000 books on offer here as well as 500,000 eBooks. Entrance is free for every resident of Qatar. There is also a so-called Heritage Library here, which includes rare books, manuscripts, and other materials related to Arab-Islamic civilization.

Khalifa International Stadium

The Khalifa International Stadium is situated next to the Aspire Tower and hosted the 2011 AFC Asian Cup finals. This very modern facility will also house many games of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The stadium offers a seating capacity of 40,000 and hosts many different types of sports so checking out the schedule is worth it if you like sports.
