Hotel Review: The Ritz Carlton Osaka

Hotel Review: The Ritz Carlton Osaka

While visiting Osaka this time, we stayed at The Ritz Carlton Osaka and got upgraded to one of their Executive suites with a nice city view. This was also our first time visiting a Ritz Carlton Hotel!

If you are curious about the Ritz Carlton Osaka and if it’s worth staying there, keep reading this review where I share my experience and what you can expect as a guest!

Our Room Standard (Executive Suite)

The Executive Suite is huge by Japanese standards and big by European standards. When entering the suite, you’ll see the living room with a couch, desk, and armchairs, and a flatscreen TV as well as a minibar.

Then you have 2 bathrooms, whereas one is a smaller toilet only and a mirror and the other one a bigger bathroom with shower and plenty of space to get yourself ready.

The bedroom was also large with a Kingsize bed, comfy pillows, a large flatscreen TV and a desk. Our suite was on the 21st floor, so as you can imagine the view was breathtaking from here, and we had this view straight from our bed!

This is what you get when booking an Executive Suite at Ritz Carlton Osaka

  • Bedroom with magical view of Osaka, desk, armchair next to window, and comfy bed with soft sheets and fluffy pillows/cover

  • Livingroom area with a couch, armchairs, flat screen TV, MiniBar, Desk, and a magical view of the city

  • Two Bathrooms. One with toilet & sink, and one with shower/bathtub, toilet, and spacious bathroom sink

  • Air conditioning
  • Spacious closet

  • Robes/Slippers

  • Free Toiletries

  • Daily cleaning

  • Complimentary & fast WiFi

  • Complimentary Water

  • Safe box

Breakfast

As for the breakfast, you have two choices if you have access to the Executive lounge, otherwise, you can have your breakfast in the main area. We had ours in the Executive lounge and it was very nice, and again stunning views!

The selection of food was great and varied, eggs can be made according to your style, fresh bread is available, salmon, yogurt and of course coffee/tea as well as soda and fresh juice.

I’m quite picky to be satisfied with a breakfast. I will admit that we are quite spoiled in Scandinavia with huge breakfast buffets in the hotels, and at home, we also pay attention to breakfast as we say that it’s the most important meal of the day.

The Ritz Carlton Osaka did not disappoint, and the breakfast buffet at the Executive lounge is definitely approved by me!

Outside the room

Strolling around the general area of the hotel and the lobby is also a bliss. This is without a doubt one of the most elegant hotels I’ve ever been to. Sure, it’s a bit old-fashioned in style, but that’s exactly what makes it so charming. All of the details are amazing, chandeliers everywhere, paintings, nice decorations, and furniture.

In addition to the fantastic interior, you can also enjoy the spa and gym as well as several restaurants & bars. They also have shops where they sell clothing and another shop where you can buy gourmet food and pastries.

If it weren’t for the fact that I love Osaka, and wanted to explore the city as much as possible, I could have easily just enjoyed the facilities provided by The Ritz Carlton Osaka and have a great time.

Spa treatments and The Ritz Carlton Osaka

We did manage to find some time in our busy schedule to try their spa, and we went for a relaxing couples massage. The staff was very professional and friendly. The massage was also very good, and I would definitely recommend other guests to book one of their treatments.

Dinner

Our first night we had dinner at the Ritz Carlton Osaka’s Hanagatami Restaurant, where they serve Japanese food. We had a tasting menu, and every course was delightfully displayed and our waitress explained every dish.

You could tell that the food was of high quality, and the Sake was amazing too! My favorite sashimi was the bonito.

Staff

Staff working at The Ritz Carlton Osaka can pride themselves on being service-minded and friendly. All of them were nice and greeted us and other guests politely as you would expect from a luxury hotel like the Ritz Carlton Osaka.

WiFi

Of course, Wi-Fi is important for me due to work, and same for many other tourists. The Wi-Fi at The Ritz Carlton Osaka worked great throughout the hotel area, and in our suite.

Location

If you like to do shopping and elegant areas, then you will be pleased that the location of the Ritz Carlton Osaka is in the heart of the prestigious district of Nishi-Umeda. From here it’s very easy to go around in Osaka, and the Osaka Station is within walking distance.

The Airport Limousine bus is stopping just around the corner, maximum 5 minutes walking with luggage.

Flights and Hotel

What other guests say about the hotel on Tripadvisor:

Other guests who have stayed at The Ritz Carlton Osaka has written that they really like the hotel decor and service level. They also like the great selection of restaurants and the proximity to the subway as well as the airport limousine bus. The complaints that I could find was guests who said the decor and hotel were very old fashioned, but I think that’s exactly what’s so charming about The Ritz Carlton Osaka. It’s very elegant, and yes old-fashioned in some ways, but for me, that’s not something negative at all in this case.
