Son Brull Hotel & Spa in Pollenca, Mallorca – Hotel Review

Son Brull Hotel & Spa in Pollenca, Mallorca – Hotel Review

Recently I went on a trip to Mallorca and spontaneously stayed a night at Son Brull since we were nearby in Port de Pollenca. It’s a well-known boutique hotel in the countryside of Mallorca, close to the old city of Pollenca.

Son Brull is quite a unique hotel that has been converted into a 5-star luxury Hotel & Spa. Previously it used to be a Jesuit Monastery with roots dating back to the 12th century. A lot has been preserved, and you still get that authentic feeling, and at the same time a more luxurious experience.

They also produce their own wines, which you can enjoy during your stay. Below you can read all about my experience, and a full Son Brull Review of what you can expect as a guest.

Room Standard (Double Deluxe With Terrace)

There are 6 different room types at Son Brull. Christine and I stayed in their Double Deluxe room with a terrace. It comes with a modern and stylish interior as well as amazing views of the landscapes and the pool. The ceiling has wooden beams, and in the middle of the room, you can enjoy a nice bathtub.

Also in the room, you can read some magazines and books, watch TV, or enjoy furniture and decor from famous designers. Overall, it’s a spacious room with plenty of space for 2 people. My favorite thing about this room is without a doubt the bathtub and terrace.

The terrace is huge and comes with a gorgeous arch window. A perfect place to relax, or enjoy some of the locally produced cava. When booking the Double Deluxe with Terrace at Son Brull, you have 16 square meters of terrace all to yourself.

Breakfast

The breakfast is being served daily in the 3/65 restaurant from 8 o clock. You can choose to sit outside by the pool or inside. Since the sun was out, we chose to sit outside by the pool. Indoors you have a breakfast buffet to choose from, and you can also order freshly made dishes from the menu.

Both Christine and I love avocado toast, so no surprise there. It was delicious!

Below you can see some more about the items available at the breakfast buffet. I’m glad they had several options as a vegetarian.

Outside The Room

The hotel area is quite big, and plenty of activities available. For example, you can enjoy the pool, play tennis, check out the bar, pamper yourself with some spa treatments, or just enjoy the steam room/hammam.

Bicycles are available to rent as well. It’s also quite nice to just go for a walk outside the room, to see the old details.

Dinner At 3/65 Restaurant

While staying at Son Brull, you have the option of dining at their renowned 3/65 restaurant. A fine dining restaurant with Majorcan dishes and tasting menus. It’s a lovely restaurant with nice decor and cozy atmosphere.

The food is made from local products, with several things coming from the Son Brull facilities. I love healthy food, and you can really tell the difference when dining here.

Since I don’t eat meat, we tried their vegetarian tasting menu, where you get 10 different dishes. As usual with tasting menus, the dishes are quite small, and unique. The same was true here at Son Brull and the 3/65 restaurant.

It’s an exciting food experience, and below you can see some photos of the different dishes we got. My favorites were the purple carrot and broad bean.

Staff

From welcome greeting to check-in and check-out, the staff were friendly and accommodating. As you can expect from a luxury hotel, they offered to carry our bags to the room and gave us a quick tour of the hotel and the room.

The waiters at breakfast and dinner were polite and friendly and told us about each dish. At morning, they also explained about the breakfast and quickly came out with our orders.

Wi-Fi at Son Brull

Being out in the countryside, away from the cities and towns, you might expect a slower Wi-Fi, but don’t worry here. The Wi-Fi at Son Brull is excellent and worked like a charm throughout the whole property.

Location

The location of Son Brull Hotel and Spa is ideal for relaxation, or couples wanting a romantic hotel experience. It’s just a couple of minutes by car from Pollenca, so it’s not really in the middle of nowhere, even if you get that nice countryside feeling.

Expect great views of the mountains, lush vineyards, bleating goats and singing birds. In other words, the location is simply fantastic and very serene.
