Review: Scandic Front Copenhagen

Review: Scandic Front Copenhagen

Last time we visited Copenhagen was in the beginning of April when we were at a meeting at the headquarters of Momondo. Our chosen hotel for this trip was Scandic Front, and here’s my review of our stay and what you can expect when staying there yourself!

Room Type

We stayed in the Harbor Suite with an amazing view over the water and Paper Island. Our room was a two-floor suite with “living room” downstairs with sofa, desk, tv, mini bar, coffee maker and magazines. The bedroom and bathroom were upstairs.

The bedroom had a wardrobe, desk, and tv, and the bathroom was fully featured with shower products and a nice overhead shower and a big mirror. The suite also had robes, slippers, toiletries, and a TV with international and Danish channels.

This is what you get when booking a Harbour Suite:

  • A large bed
  • Comfortable pillows
  • Bathrobes
  • Slippers
  • Bathroom with shower
  • Daily cleaning
  • Free toiletries (FACE Stockholm Body lotion, conditioner, hand wash, shampoo & shower gel)
  • Hairdryer
  • Free WiFi
  • TV
  • Air-conditioning
  • Desk + chairs
  • Living Room with sofas and a great sea view
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Kettle with coffee/tea
  • Laptop safe
  • Nespresso machine
  • Delicious breakfast buffet

Breakfast

The breakfast at Scandic Front is classic Scandinavian and have lots of choices, especially fresh bread and toppings. It’s good quality and you will definitely not be disappointed by the breakfast served here.

What’s on the breakfast buffet

  • Salami
  • Liver Paste
  • Pickles

  • Fruit
  • Nuts/cereals

There are also coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, and milk available.

Staff/Service

The check-in went smoothly and the room was ready when we arrived around 14:00 pm. We were met with a smile and nice welcome. We didn’t have any complaints, so I can’t really share how they handle that since everything was better than expected.

And also, the staff was friendly and greeted us and other guests when walking by or leaving the hotel. A nice detail that adds up to the hotel experience.

Outside the room

The hotel lobby and breakfast/dining room are modern and classic with nice paintings hanging on the wall. Downstairs from the reception, you will also find bathrooms and the sauna.

Wi-Fi

To be fully honest, it was a bit spotty upstairs in our bedroom, but it still worked. On the first floor in our suite, it worked well, and also down in the lobby and breakfast/dining room. There are also places to work in the lobby, so it’s not really an issue.

Location

While it’s not being located directly in the city center, Scandic Front is just about 3 minutes walk from the beautiful area Nyhavn, so in some way, you can say it’s very central, and also you’re within walking distance to Strøget, which is the main shopping street with lots of the stores and restaurants.

It’s a great location as you can still walk to places, and being so close to Nyhavn, but still being able to enjoy a quiet area without any noise from the nightlife.

Summary of our stay at Scandic Front

I’m very pleased with our stay at Scandic Front. I’ve stayed in a few other Scandic hotels before, so I had some expectations, but they were all met, so, all in all, it was a great hotel experience. The staff was accommodating and friendly, the suite was amazing and the perfect place to relax after 12 days in a campervan in Iceland.

I would definitely recommend others to stay here, especially if you love having that fresh breakfast buffet in the morning, as well as a good location and great standard.
