The Most Populated Countries in the World

Want to know which are the world’s most populated countries? Here’s a list of the 15 most populated countries in the world.

The low fertility rate in developed countries is likely to continue, and for developing nations the population growth is likely to increase until the middle and lower classes achieve a better standard of living, especially in Africa, which is the fastest-growing continent at the moment.

More about the most populated countries in the world

As already mentioned previously in this article, the most populous countries in the world have a high fertility rate in general with a few exceptions of the U.S and Japan. In general, the more developed a country becomes, the lower the fertility rate will get.

This has been true to Western societies which almost all are facing a decline in population growth, whereas almost all non-developed countries are having an increase in population growth.

This is mostly because of two reasons, medical care is getting improved which means that life expectancy is increasing in non-developing countries, and the number of death among children lowers as well.

On top of this, the old habits and culture of large families are still prevalent in these countries, especially among poor families since they’re dependent on children helping them with work and supporting the family.

This is a challenge for many of the most populated countries in the world, especially because the population growth continues while people live longer and fewer children die as well, which means more resources is needed, which is not always possible due to lack of infrastructure, corrupt governments and lack of a functioning society.

As for developing countries, population growth is declining in general, even though people live longer. But at the rate of people improving their living standard, it is very likely that each family will only get 1-2 children. There are also some mildly alarming reports on an increase of people that can’t produce offsprings.

This list of the most populated countries in the world in 2019 is likely to be a lot different in 2029.
