Hotel Novotel Warszawa Airport

Hotel Novotel Warszawa Airport

When we went to Warsaw over New Years, Christine and I decided to try something new. Usually, we want to stay as central as possible, but since Warsaw has good bus connections and we were off relatively early to the airport a few days later, we thought why not?

The price was cheaper, quite a lot cheaper compared to the central accommodations and buffet breakfast was also included. And the face that it was a Novotel we couldn’t ask for more.

Here you can read my hotel review for Novotel Warszawa Airport:

Outside the room

The hotel also offers an outdoor pool, a children’s club, spa services, conference rooms and a restaurant/bar. Moreover, there are workspaces for those who want to use a computer. The interior of the hotel is stylish and a bit of a mix of modern and classic style.

Breakfast & Dinner

In all honesty, the breakfast at the Novotel Warszawa Airport leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you stayed at other hotels owned by Novotel. Admittedly, this hotel is cheaper than other Novotels, but you should still provide a good breakfast.

The vegetarian/vegan options were barely available on the breakfast. However, I want to give some extra stars to the food from the hotel restaurant, which was significantly better than the breakfast. The restaurant offers tables, but it’s also possible to get room service at no extra charge.

The food quality was great and the portions were large. There are vegetarian/vegan options on the menu, and it is especially signposted. If you stay at the Hotel Novotel Warszawa Airport, I can heartily recommend eating here if you’re too lazy getting to a local restaurant or just want something quick.

What’s on the breakfast buffet

  • Sausages
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Baked beans
  • Grilled vegetables (peppers, onions, zucchini and more)
  • Yogurt (plain and different flavors)
  • Mix nuts (topping for yogurt)
  • Cold cuts (different kinds of sliced meat and cheese)
  • Fruit salad (pineapple, melon, apple, grapes mM)
  • Vegetables
  • Bread (dark & white – different types)
  • Butter
  • Jam/jelly (different flavors)
  • Honey
  • Juice (pineapple, apple, orange mM)
  • Water
  • Coffee (americano, cafe latte, macchiato, espresso, etc.)
  • Hot chocolate
  • Tea (different flavors)
  • Pastries/cakes

Check-in/check-out

Check-in went quickly. No printed booking confirmation, but the pass was requested. At check-in we were asked what kind of room we wanted, with a shower or bath and if we wanted to add our credit card for the minibar or pay later when checking out.

The check out also went smoothly and the staff asked how the stay was and wished us a pleasant journey home.

Staff/Service

The staff was courteous and friendly, just as one would expect from a stay at the Novotel. We checked in on New Year’s Eve and were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly Cava. Not something that is usually done, but such detail increases the rating further. It shows that they care about their guests and intend to make extra efforts during celebrations.

The staff is available around the clock. In addition to that, the hotel also offers a free shuttle from/to the airport, which is about 10-15 minutes away. The regular bus also stops outside the hotel, but it’s just as good to use the shuttle bus that runs several times a day.

Wi-Fi

If there is something that the hotel should upgrade, then it is their Wi-Fi. It is free and requires no code, which is kind of a safety hazard. In addition, the signal was poor in the room and it worked well down in the lobby.

2017 in Poland, which has fast internet in general, one should be able to expect that a hotel of the Novotel’s standard to be offering high speed Wi-Fi.

Location

About 15 minutes from downtown Warsaw by bus, which leaves right outside, both to the old town and the center. The location is good and it is easy to get into town, while still being close to the airport.

You can stay here if you need to get an early ride to the airport or if you want to stay cheaper, but still good.

Summary of my stay at the Novotel Warszawa Airport

Overall, our stay at the Novotel Warszawa Airport was good, but there are still a few things that can be improved. Above all, the breakfast and Wi-Fi need to be reviewed and upgraded. More options for the breakfast and a faster wi-fi connection would make this hotel an excellent choice.

But beyond that, the room was good, the staff was kind and the fact that you got a free shuttle to the airport was another plus. The hotel restaurant was also of a high standard and offered food and value for money.
